Indigo (Indigofera Tinctoria) Leaf Powder is a natural hair dye extracted from the crushed leaves of the Indigo plant. It contains neither ammonia nor peroxide – both of which tend to strip the protective lipid coating on hair, making the shaft weaker, thinner, and more prone to damage. While ammonia penetrates the hair shaft causing it to swell, damaging hair in the process, peroxide removes the natural color of the hair and dries it out. Indigo hair color, on the other hand, while naturally dyeing the hair, also conditions dry and brittle hair ends in the process.
