Henna (Lawsonia Inermis) Leaf Extract is a natural hair dye extracted from the crushed leaves of the Henna plant. It contains neither ammonia nor peroxide – both of which tend to strip the protective lipid coating on hair, making the shaft weaker, thinner, and more prone to damage. While ammonia penetrates the hair shaft causing it to swell, damaging hair in the process, peroxide removes the natural color of the hair and dries it out. Henna hair color, on the other hand, while naturally dyeing the hair, softens hair in the process due to its rich content of Vitamin E.
